Put a GREEN Pin in This Epic Outing!
THERE IS NOTHING MORE CHICAGO THAN AN EPIC ST. PATRICK'S DAY GREEN RIVER DYE AND PARADE!
Signs By Tomorrow had the distinct pleasure of decking out all of the Jameson boats for the Annual Chicago St. Patrick's Day Dyeing of the River on March 15th.
CLIENT: Ballyhoo Boats
CHALLENGE: All boats were in the water. Some in Lake Michigan and some in the Chicago River. The crafts were docked at 4 different marinas.
CHALLENGE: Our team had to wait until each boat moved for an event or tour to hang the starboard vs port side banners. Some of the craft we were not able to complete measurement surveys in advance.
OUTCOME: Nine boats were fitted with these custom green banners before the March 15th dyeing of the Chicago River. Each boat toured the river in their green banners all weekend.
FUN FACT: The tradition of dying the Chicago river green began in 1962, with the Chicago Journey-man Plumbers Union Local 130. They still use a vegetable-based dye that is orange in color.
OUTCOME: These banners were printed on two Epson SureColor S40600 large format printers on Duratex 13 oz. banner material. We printed a total of 4,087 square feet of banners for this entire project.
OUTCOME: We used a boom lift to reach the highest echelons of some of these large vessels. Our largest banner was 88 feet wide by 39 inches tall. The interior banners were installed during an architectural tour for guests!
